Classroom Reveal
2016-2017
I have finished about 90% of my classroom. Like most teachers, I will be in and out of my classroom changing this or adding that until the end of the school year. As of now, this is what I have.
First off, here is a picture of my teacher space. Behind my chair is a file cabinet, but it isn't decorated or organized, lol.
I have my document camera and my computer on my desk. I decided to combine them on my desk instead of having two different desks like last year. It will hopefully keep me from losing as many things this year.
Directly in front of my desk is my supply drawer. Please excuse the cords! I keep extra paper, pencils and other knickknacks in there for quick grab.
Next to my drawer set is my filing system for returning papers. I have my clipboards, the desk caddies, and extra papers available for my students to grab when needed.
Above the student work table is a list of my classroom jobs. I will post reminders of when rent is due as well as when to turn in applications for the new jobs. Every time I have a bulletin board I get butcher paper and borders and make it nice and pretty. I am a bit lazy this year and it was just too much color in one area. I have inclusion kids and I am trying to tone down the distractions for them as much as possible.
When I receive my textbooks, they will go on these shelves by class period. The shelves have been cleaned multiple times, but the stains are still there. The pencil sharpener was moved to a little table so it is out of the way.
On top of the shelves is where students will turn in work. Under the shelves is where we will keep our interactive journals.
The round table is where my Inclusion Aide will set up shop. She will be able to pull up to 3 students to the back of the classroom for additional assistance or go to their desks.
Behind the round table are posters I made breaking down the TEKS I teach for 7th grade. In the middle is a reference poster from ( http://www.mathgps.org/new/postersJ.php ) Math GPS that has the verbal descriptions of the TEKS. I also have a supply table there.
Here is a close up of my posters I hand created. Please excuse the blob of green on the title of the poster. Storage was not kind to my posters.
This supply table is set up very differently from the other one. This table is meant to just house my colored pencils, markers, and post-its so my Inventory Specialist can quickly grab and pass out during class.
I decided to use these huge drawer sets to put my lesson plans and papers to copy. I love this :)
I have so much room for working out math problems!
My absent work section.
Things not pictured: my podium, my file cabinet, and my SMART board wall. :)
